Halloween 2016!

Halloween is upon us again! If you are a new resident to Owen Park, you’re in for a treat. Owen Park is recognized year after year as one of the best places for trick or treating in Tulsa! Our streets will be filled with kids and parents marching from house to house. Be prepared with extra candy (seriously, if you traditionally hand out candy, buy more than you think you'll need. We ran out FAST our first year). One way to keep the candy-cost down is to get together with a couple of neighbors and combine your treats while passing them out from one of your houses. Here are some others tips to have a safe and pleasant Halloween in Owen Park.

Also, if you love a little live music, one of our neighbor's on the 500 block of Rosedale plans on hosting his 2nd annual Halloween concert. Very spooky.

1. If you’re driving during trick-or- treat hours, keep your eyes on the road and stay distraction free. Avoid using cell phones and other electronic devices.

2. Keep anxiety prone pets separated from your front door. Protecting your house from ninjas, witches, and monsters is a good idea the other 364 days a year. On Halloween, not so much. And don’t leave the candy bag in your dog’s reach.

3. Remind younger children not to talk to strangers and to stay out of their homes or cars. While this may seem obvious, kids get excited when it’s time to trick-or- treat.

4. If you have older children and you’re not going with them, find out what route they plan to travel and check up on them periodically via a call or text message.

5. If you’re driving during trick-or- treat hours, keep your eyes on the road and stay distraction free. Avoid using cell phones and other electronic devices.
