Owen Park Chili Extravaganza
Similar to chili, Owen Park Neighborhood Association meetings are notorious for being bloated and full of gas.  In the spirit of Emeril Lagasse, this March we are determined to “kick it up a notch”.  The Neighborhood Association is hosting a Chili cook-off in lieu of the traditional Neighborhood Association meeting.  Owen Park-ites from all parts will be going head-to-head to see whose grandmother’s chili recipe wins the blue ribbon (or, in this case, the Golden Ladle)—anyone interested is encouraged to participate.  A few facts: utensils, bowls, condiments, chips, Fritos, drinks, etc will be provided by the Association.  Your chili needs to be “pre-warmed” as there will be nowhere to plug in a crock-pot.  The event will begin at 6:30 in the Roosevelt Elementary School cafeteria (From the North Entrance it is down the stairs to the left and then take a right at the end of the hall).  If you have questions, concerns, or comments please email David Moore at
